GMCR News and Updates
This page provides information on recent go-lives, upcoming integrations, and support for new partners joining the platform.
GP Connect is now live
GP Connect is now fully enabled, allowing seamless sharing of primary care information across systems.
GP Connect
The GMCR will soon benefit from the launch of GP Connect, providing near real-time access to primary care data, including consultation details. The addition of an integrated HTML view ensures consistent, easy-to-read information for all professionals accessing the record.
What is GP Connect?
GP Connect allows authorised health and social care workers in a variety of care settings to access their patients’ GP records.
Health and social care workers can view a patient’s care record, including medications, problems, allergies and appointments. All sensitive codes are excluded in alignment with NHS England policies.
What GPs need to know:
- Permission-Based Access: Access to the full GP record is governed by user permissions, ensuring colleagues see only the information relevant to their role.
- Structured, Coded Information: Health and social care teams can view structured, coded data to gain a clear and comprehensive picture of a patient’s care (note: free-text fields are not shared).
- Private Consultations: GPs can mark certain consultations as ‘private,’ preventing data sharing when appropriate, provided it doesn’t impact the delivery of care by other professionals.
PACS Viewer and Docobo Integration
The PACS Viewer will provide access to radiology results directly through GMCR, enhancing diagnostic visibility. The Docobo remote monitoring solution will also be integrated soon, supporting proactive care in community settings.
GMCR Version 4 – Coming Soon
GMCR V4 is a major upgrade to the User Interface of the GMCR, due to be released later this year.
